Alba Pineapple Facial Scrub Bliss!
I was, until recently, employed at a green cleaning company as a manager/cleaning person. I learned a lot about cleaning with green and natural products and how it was better for myself and the environment.
One thing about doing cleaning though, is it is a sweaty, messy job. Add to that going to roller derby practice twice a week and the skin on my face was looking really dull and lifeless! I was trying all kinds of facial cleansers for a while. Most of them were too harsh and left my skin feeling dry and flaky! So NOT what I wanted! Then I had one of those “D’oh!” moments where I said…. “If you work with natural products all day, shouldn’t you look for one for yourself?” So down the organic and natural aisle I trotted till I stopped at a display from Alba. There I met what is now my most favorite scrub in the entire world! Alba Pineapple Enzyme Facial Scrub.
I bought mine at Target, but Alba is a line that is widely available in most large stores and even specialty health food places like Whole Foods! It’s also available on line as well, and the prices run from $6.98 to $12.99 depending on where you get it.
I took my purchase home and vowed to try it the next evening. (I had a full day of work, plus a 2 hour derby practice!) I hopped into the shower that evening and popped open the top and it smelled divine! A light pineapple scent just screams tropical getaway!! The grit wasn’t so coarse that I felt like I was face planting on gravel after a J-Block either. That was an issue I had with many of the other cleansers. After massaging the scrub in, I felt a pleasant tingling sensation, and when the time came to rinse the scrub off, it rinsed easily. My face felt fresh and clean, with no residual grit or filmy feeling. Finally! A face scrub that leaves me with a face!!! I have used it ever since and sincerely will continue to do so.

do you consider your skin “sensitive” or just normal? i am crazy sensitive so i have to ask.
@hello haha narf,
I don’t really have sensitive skin, but the regular skin scrubs were always too harsh!! This one did the trick and left the skin on my face!
and I usually come back to the generic apricot scrub because it’s cheap and it works, but I love the idea of a physical scrub with enzymes. I just read something about a Kate Sommerville scrub similar to this – but it’s like $40+. I can’t wait to try this!
Where the hell did the rest of my comment go? It should start, “I try all kinds of things,…”
@Megan,
I spent around $8 for this and I love it! And the smell is awesome! I’m hoping Hawaii will smell just as good!!
