Can You Love A Hand And Body Lotion?
I’ve been a hand and body lotion hopper for a long time. I’ve always been looking for new things to try, hoping to stumble on the perfect thing. What I’ve discovered is that my perfect thing doesn’t exist, so either I had to invent it (too much effort), or prioritize my standards a bit. What I wanted was an effective moisturizer that would also keep my skin smooth as a baby’s bottom. Apparently that was a tall order. Or I thought so until I came across AmLactin.
I had passed by it in Walgreens and dismissed it out of hand because it was expensive—about $24 for 14 oz. But then I was reading an article in some women’s magazine or other and a woman dermatologist mentioned AmLactin and “anti-aging for the body” in the same sentence. I ruminated on that a bit (I’m not as young as I used to be; I’ll take all the help I can get) and then took the plunge.
I haven’t looked back.
The magic in this stuff in is the alpha hydroxy acids (which also work their magic in a foot creme); it contains an astounding 12%. Most over-the-counter moisturizers contain between 5-10%. It used to be sold by prescription only. The acid is tempered by ammonia so that it doesn’t sting, although I wouldn’t recommend it for people with really sensitive skin. After using AmLactin for one day, I felt a difference. My skin is softer and smoother. Little bumps that I had on my chest and arms have diminished significantly. My skin feels hydrated, even as we’ve had some unseasonably cold weather.
As hydrating as it is, it is not greasy. It absorbs quickly, but I would give it a minute or two before getting dressed because I find that it can feel a bit “humid” when I first put clothes on. It’s not a big deal, but it’s something I noticed the very first time I used AmLactin.
The one drawback I’ve found? The price. It’s far more than I’d usually spend. But you can find coupons and if you have dry or aging skin, it might just be worth the extra money.
You can find AmLactin at Amazon, Drugstore.com and Walgreens.

It sounds convincing. I suggest that in order for us to know what kind of body lotion is suitable for us, we must go and ask our skin doctors on the the type of lotion we would use because all of us has different types of skin and the best thing is to ask the specialist.
