I have combination type skin with an oily t-zone. I've tried products from the cheap ones you can find at any pharmacy to other expensive brands and I have found through my own personal use that Shielo Complexion Scrub is the best. It does wonders for when my skin is extra oily and does an excellent job of giving my skin a clean feeling. The scent is very pleasant, very citrus-y. It doesn't foam up, but I find that I prefer just to rub it in my fingers and massage it on my face. The 4 oz bottle lasts me about 5-6 months of daily use since you only need a very small amount to get the job done. I would recommend using some type of moisturizer afterwards as it tends to dry out my skin. Other than that, this product comes highly recommended.

I didnt have bad skin, but I didnt have perfect skin either until I started using Shielo's Hydrating Mist Spray on a daily basis. I'm on my 4th bottle, and I plan on purchasing another one as soon as I finish typing this.

With this spray, it's pretty much fool-proof in achieving the perfect look. Everytime I wear this, I get compliments. This spray goes on evenly, it's light weight and does not feel like I'm wearing a a thick moisturizer.

I personally think that it's more hygienic than regular moisturizers (which are applied by the hands and contaminate your face) and improved my skin condition over-all.

Whoa, I am so late on this! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this!

As I was reading this, at first I thought it was weird that my skin is actually screaming for moisture. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense; recently I've been using a more mild cleanser and I'm having less problems. (I'm still shiny and oily, with a few stray zits, but less zits and oil!)

I've always wanted to try Aveda, so I think I'm gonna have to take me a trip to Target (which is awesome because I'm always looking for an excuse to go). :D

Thanks again, and I'll come back and report on how it goes!

My skin lately has been this complete smorgasbord of fuckedupness.

Then I realized, d'uh you dumbass, you aren't using the same cleanser you usually use.

So I broke down and paid the $6 for my old skool neutrogena crap.

And it made a little difference but not enough to make me feel like a grown up and not a fifteen year old.

So, I did my masks and exfoliaters and shit.

And then my skin got all dried up and flaky because winter has officially hit in Chicago.

And THEN I remembered the eucerin face moisturizer stuff that the eucerin lady from blogher sent me a few weeks ago. I've been using it everyday and, no shit, my face is all cleared up, not flaky and my blackheads are practically nonexistent.

Try this stuff - omg, I love it.

Shutting up now.

There is a nearby beauty college that days facials for $25. They use good products (Dermalogica and Pevonia) and will usually throw in a extra-moisturizing treatment for me for free. The students are supervised by instructors who must have like a billion years of experience. I've never had a bad experience there and get a lot of compliments on my skin.

I used to have this oily-patch-over-dry-patch-with-deep-blackheads kind of skin. And then I received a Clarisonic face brush for Christmas. I use a drop (literally) of this creamy Origins cleanser called Checks and Balances on the brush and run it over my face for the pre-timed amount (the device beeps to warn you time's almost up) every morning. Then, I use pure Emu Oil as my moisturizer. No toner, nothing. Emu Oil is an ancient Aboriginal healing treatment, and my naturopath recommended it for treating Lauren's eczema. Since I've been using this routine (about 10 months) I not only RARELY break out, but my skin is amazing, the best I've ever had in my whole teen/adult life. No patches of oil or dryness. No more blackheads.

The Clarisonic is pricey, but I think it's worth every penny you'd pay if you didn't get it as a gift.

I was using a scrub made of sea salt, jojoba oil and a drop or two of tea tree oil. It wasn't too bad, actually, although if I were to do it again, I'd use grapeseed oil --- it's lighter and more suitable for the skin.

I've been using the Clinique 3-step and I'm enjoying it so far. The moisturizing gel can be a little oil-inducing for the daytime so I made an essential oil blend of grapeseed oil mixed with a few drops of grapefruit oil and it actually does a better job of toning down the oiliness during the day.

Exfoliating is important but be careful you don't overdo it. :D

I'll have to try the Aveda All Sensative. Not sure if you have a Body Shop in your area, but they have fantastic cleansers, toners & moisturizers, etc. That's my go to place. Plus if you buy a membership ($10) you get 10% off and earn points.
