How To Straighten Curly Hair – A Video

While I am an advocate of embracing your natural hair texture, especially if you’ve been blessed with naturally curly hair, I am also a fan of the infamous Spice of Life: variety.

And that, my friends, is why I did a little happy dance when I figured out how to straighten my curly hair in less than 30 minutes.

I occasionally straighten my daughter’s hair for special occasions and have never quite found the right grouping of products. We have many of these but apparently have not had the right combination . Our problem has been the ends doing funky things(that’s actually the flat iron we use , and I have the motions leave in conditioner and Shine Polish). Eager to try it in the order you suggested and see how it goes. Thanks!

ACK, that’s a lot of work to straighten hair that doesn’t wanna be. I’m glad you embrace your curls.

I like the frizz-ease stuff to keep my hair from being a furball. :)

Poppy – yes and no. It takes about 30 minutes start to finish, which is MUCH longer than I spend on my hair daily. But? I can wear it this way for three days before having to wash it again (naturally dry hair = no grease. lol)

So that’s only like 10 minutes a day!

Now do you understand why I get my hair straightened? :) :)

Next time, try the KeraCare line – the moisture is far superior. :)

I love that when I straighten I can go 3 days too. I have the curly hair thing plus the bleaching and dry climate all working to dry out my hair so everyday washing would make my hair pack its bags and leave. But when I go curly I have to at least condition daily.

I need to try some of these products because the Aveda stuff I’ve been using is so expensive. I cringe every time I hand over my debit card!

I have naturally curly hair and also live in the Orlando area. The humidity is not kind. I had my hair chemically straightened about a year ago. NEVER again! I will deal with some frizz rather than put my hair through that again. It has finally recovered. I love the Curls Rock line by Tigi. The mousse is great and seems to tame the frizz pretty well, even in the summer.

I don’t bother to try to straighten my hair in the summer because as soon as I walk outside and the humidity hits it, it’s curling again.

I have crazy curly hair too – and mine is long too – Also, I live in Ocala, Fl so the humidity doesn’t help. I always have blown it dry and then flat ironed, but I think I’m going to go buy that wet to straight iron today. Thanks for the tips!
