Showing Some Love To Shielo

Shielo Volumizing Shampoo

I want to share with you all some new hair products that I am loving right now.

Have you heard of shielo?

I hadn’t either.  They make hair care products for volume, color protect and hydrate.  When they offered to send me some products to try I was excited.  I love trying new stuff for my hair.

While I usually gravitate towards a color protect since we all know that I dye my hair, I am always wishing that I had more volume.  My hair is very thick and while a professional can always get me the volume I want, I can never seem to get any on my own.  So this time?  I went with the volume because I wanted to see for myself what it could really do.

Shielo Volumizing Conditioner

I have used the shielo products for the last few weeks and I have to say I am really liking the results.  (Even my husband noticed so that says something right there.)  Each time I wash my hair I used the volumizing shampoo and volumizing conditioner.  After I towel dry it a little, I spray in the flexible design hair spray a little bit and sometimes add the bounce style creme.  As I brush and blow dry, I add just a little more of the spray at the end and I am good to go.  I have just a little bit of volume and it actually STAYS like that.  Without falling flat (like most things in my hair do).

I do suspect that someone who knows what they are doing with their hair (i.e.,  not me) could get a TON of volume with these products.  Just the fact that I am able to get some myself when nothing else has ever worked in my hair really gets me excited about shielo.

Shielo Bounce Style Creme

Shielo also sent me their smoothing complexion anti-aging scrub (made with allantoin and jojoba) for use twice a week and I am liking that as well.  Pleasant smell that is not overpowering and it doesn’t make my face red.  My skin even feels a little smoother too.  For a girl who doesn’t have much of a beauty routine aside from showering, throwing my half wet hair into a ponytail most days and putting on some lip gloss and mascara… this new routine feels good.

I have to be honest though.  It is, in my opinion, pricey.  I actually didn’t get on their website until  I went to do the writeup because I wanted to fully try it out first.  The shampoo is $28.49, conditioner $24.99, bounce style creme $14.99, flexible design hair spray $18.99 and the complexion scrub is $16.99 … as a mom of 3 small boys that adds up to more money than I care to spend on hair care and beauty products just for me.

On the flip side, reading about their company impressed me.  From their website:

Strand Guard Technology®

Protects hair from environmental factors, such as free radicals which attack hair follicles and colour pigments, that fade color and cause premature degradation of the hair structure. Shielo’s priorietary Strand Guard Technology® contains potent antioxidants and sunscreens to protect colour from free radicals.

Spatial Expanse Technology®

Products with our Expanse Technology give hair volume for greater strength and flexibility. Targetting specifically damaged and weakened hair, the results are thicker, healthier, more beautiful hair.

Concentrated Potent Formulas

Investments in hair care products should be protected, which is why Shielo formulas are not diluted and contain concentrated formulas in each bottle to ensure your investment lasts and your hair is protected. That means a little goes a long way.

And they are against animal cruelty and use post-consumer recycled and recyclable packaging.  For my vegan and natural friends?  Their products contain the highest quality ingredients from nature, combined with advances in haircare research to ensure desired performance and ultimate results. As an organization, we have committed to developing naturally-based formulas infused with organic botanicals harvested from plants grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or chemicals.

In light of hearing what is being found in all sorts of products lately (like,  oh,  let’s say… all the lead in lipsticks), I love that shielo is putting themselves out there as a company trying to develop naturally-based formulas!  And P.S., it’s all made in the USA!

Right now they have a pretty good sale going on, with some Hydrate items at 35% and Antioxidant at 50% off!  Check them out on their website as well as on Facebook.

Liza was given shielo products to try, but the opinions expressed in this review are all her own.

I may have to look into that styling creme. My hair is heavy and it sometimes needs a little lift, especially when it’s humid, which it always is here.

It’s sounds really interesting, but it is a little too far out of my price range, even though, like you, I love hair products.

  3. If The volume creme can help my hair that would be awesome. I get the worst helmet hair that never seems to go away!

  4. I use their Bounce Style Creme – I love it! Its so soft and makes my hair smell so good!

Its soft enough so it doesnt cause “Hard hair” – every time my boyfriend runs his hands through it, he loves it cause my hair cause the creme keeps it so soft – and he always smells it!
