Cheap Purses For Spring

My favorite spring purse

My favorite spring purse

It’s officially spring.

I love when the seasons change and we get to put away the clothing and accessories we’re starting to get tired of and go shopping for new things.

For me, spring and summer fashions are all about light and bright.  I think of sunshine and being outdoors, and my wardrobe and accessories reflect a more playful attitude.

One of the first things I do when the seasons change is go shopping for new purses.

And my favorite kind of purses are cheap purses.  Scratch that.  Cheap, cute purses are my favorites.

I’m not a bag snob – and my budget wouldn’t allow it even if I wanted to be a slave to labels and designers.  For me, an inexpensive purse is an easy way to satisfy my shopping urge and enjoy the thrill of having something new, without spending too much money.

My favorite purse right now is a lime green knock off I got in Chinatown last fall.  I paid $35 for it and I love it.  I get compliments almost every time I carry it, and it’s perfect for spring.

But you can’t have just one lime green purse for spring.  I mean, clearly.  I have some shopping to do.

Fuchsia Giraffe Designer Inspired Animal Print Handbag Purse Bag Tote Purse – $25.99.

I like this bag as an option at night for the spring and summer.  Sometimes the beachy bags can feel a little silly if you find yourself inside a restaurant – even if it is 80 degrees outside.  I think the pink and the unstructured design of this purse gives it the perfect casual touch.

Bamboo Double Handle Handbag

Bamboo Double Handle Handbag – $29.99

This purse is the epitome of a spring bag – for less than $30.  The natural elements are reminiscent of the beach or a picnic in the park.  The flower detailing and the lace edging are a unique touch that shows you have a strong sense of style.

orange cheap purse for spring

Orange Erica Quilted Faux Leather Tote Bag – $49.99

I have been craving an orange bag forever.  Lucky for me, designers have declared officially in style for spring – which doesn’t make them any more desirable, but absolutely makes them easier to find than they were last year.  This one is a little more structured than I normally do in the warmer months, but I like the textural interest of the quilting.

Tommy Hilfiger Navy Blue Chunky Satin Satchel – $59.99

Another “hot” color this season is blue.  I love the chunkiness of this Tommy Hilfiger bag and the hardware.  I adore the bright blue.  This is a guaranteed to get compliments bag.

Canvas Polka Dot Tote

Canvas Polka Dot Tote – $48.00

A tote is practically a requirement for spring and summer.  It’s perfect for the beach, the pool, the park, an amusement park, the mall… you get the idea.  Every woman should own at least one canvas tote.  I love the soft green and funky polka dots of this canvas tote.

O’NEILL Cosmic Dee Bag – $29.50

I think this is the one for me.  Love it.  LOVE.  I love the neutral colors that make it appropriate for anything – with the little shot of color that makes it interesting and bright.  I like the floral pattern that isn’t too grandma’s couch floral.  I love this bag.  And at $29.50 – it’s a super cheap way for me to get my shopping fix on.

What about you?  Which is your favorite?

Oooh – the Cosmic Dee purse is my favorite, too! (Also the one you got in Chitown.) My favorite purse from a few years ago (that I still have) is this Kenneth Cole picnic basket looking purse – people love it. Too bad it’s starting to look shabby! And Miss Britt to the rescue, with the bamboo double handle handbag! Thanks.

In the spring I usually just change my toenail polish from dark to bright. I generally keep my purses neutral and seasonless, but that tote and the bamboo bag are intriguing.

  3. OMFG I must buy that giraffe print purse. I am not a fan of animal print but that is SO cute.

  4. The bamboo purse, tied with the lime green knockoff. I am so NOT a purse snob. I usually buy one, wear it out, buy another, wear it out, and so on, and so on. I usually pick one up from DSW for around $60. Right now it’s a deep red patent semi-hobo bag, and it’s just about time for a new one. I once allowed myself to spend $100 on a purse, and I took it back because it seemed stupid to spend that much money. I found a near-identical bag at TJ Maxx for $19.99 a few days later. Bargain!

LOVE all of the bags. I have been known to go to the mall and buy 4 or 5 bags at a time. I would love to be a bag snob and only buy Coach, etc., but that is NOT in my budget. If I had to pick a fave out of the ones you posted I would have to pick the orange one tied with the last one. I love bright colored purses and have everything from purple, orange, lime green, dark green, blue and yellow!

Was totally jonesing over this until I realized my purse for a very long time is going to be my diaper bag.

See – I am a purse snob and I have to break myself out of this expensive habit if I ever want to buy my own place. Love the bags!!

I don’t like to change my purse very often–I’m pretty much like Finn. I do like the bamboo bag, the Hilfiger and the Cosmic Dee but you’d have a hard time prying me from my Beijou Over The Moon.

I must say though that the last one is just so tempting for summer—hmmmmmm

Living in NYC has made me dork out over handbags. But I love to watch other women hold them. I want nothing to do with them.

You just dorked me out, thank you. Love the giraffe one for $26.

  10. I think my favourite was your lime green one hanging from the doorknob! 😛

  11. I love the Giraffe one! And your green one. I love that most I think. Now I have to go bag shopping damnit.

Well, I’m not a bag snob because I can’t afford it.. but I may well be a bag geek, I know them all, just can’t buy them. So, I do have non-designer and knockoffs in every color there is in my wardrobe.. so I basically use a different purse almost every day 😉 and I love IT! Also, we keep agreeing.. that last one.. it is kinda perfect for a spring-summery look :) Love it!

I like the giraffe print and the last one best of all, but they’re all super-cute. My favorite bag of my own right now is a Gucci canvas floral print with bamboo handles I picked up at a consignment store. It’s my go-to purse for spring. I’ll be carrying it until my arms fall off.

I am interested in the one with the yellow flowers but does it have a long strap because I like I can cros the bag over my body. Also interested in green bag but didn’t have a price and does it have a longer strap as well.
