Earlier this year, I received an iGo Charge Anywhere for my BlackBerry and it changed my life. Not in the OMG, Haagen Dasz chocolate peanut butter ice cream changed my life and now my ass has its own zip code way, but an actual changed my life and made it easier way. How many products really do that for you? Oh, whatever. Stop talking to the computer screen and read on.
When you plug in your phone/BlackBerry/interplanetary device into the iGo charger and plug it into an outlet, the iGo charger charges itself as well. Hello, bang for the green buck! This means that you can then charge your phone using the iGo charger without actually having to plug it into the wall. Which, believe me, is a neat party trick. This summer I was sitting at a Little League game, enjoying every precious moment of texting time while charging my phone.
“What, you have an outlet in your purse?” some dad asked me.
“Yes,” I told him. Because I don’t like to be interrupted mid-text.
“Come on,” he nudged. Despite what they say about curiosity killing the cat, I relented. I took my peacefully-resting-in-my-purse iGo charger and showed him.
“It has a charged battery that charges without being plugged into an outlet,” I explained, feeling all science-y.
“How long does it last?” He asked. Men. It’s all about staying power, isn’t it? About an hour, I told him.
Which is the perfect amount of time to get a good charge until you can reach civilization, I mean, an outlet.
I am by no means a techie, but the iGo charger has saved me many times. And left many jealous onlookers in my wake.
The iGo charger is available at Amazon and from iGo. I got mine from iGo,free of charge, but I’d totally buy it. Sometimes I even throw cash at it. Because that’s how I express love.
Wonder if they make these for the iPhone?
