Stila Forever your Curl mascara

Forever your curl.

Makes me want to start singing ‘I’m forever your girl!Hey baby!’ You know… Paula Abdul? The 90′s? Er…late 80′s? Don’t ask, I’m in a weird mood today.

And today we are talking mascara!

Love my mascaras! I have said it before and I will say it again, my beauty must haves are a light foundation, mascara and lip gloss. Not that I don’t like to put on more, but on a regular day it works for me.

That being said, back in college one of my closest friends used to sit in front of the mirror each morning and whip out her eye lash curler. And I would stand in the mirror next to her and tell her she was crazy. I mean who curled their eye lashes? Did they really need to be curled? I sure didn’t think so.

She would tell me I was lucky I didn’t need to, that she did… though I never could tell the difference.

A few weeks ago I was at another Rhody Mama’s Mingling Moms event (love them!) and part of the swag was Stila’s Forever your Curl mascara.

Featuring innovative lash-curl memory, this eye-catching wonder contains a proprietary resin that continuously curls lashes throughout the day – and holds curl for long-lasting results. A unique brush design coats and extends each individual lash, while an intense carbon black hue delivers maximum impact.

  • Breakthrough formula continuously curls lashes
  • Innovative brush coats and extends each lash
  • Carbon black shade for eye-popping allure

So after reading all that, I thought about my friend who used to spend all that time curling hers and I was in. Opened it right up didn’t think twice before trying to use it.

And I poked myself right in the eye with the wand. Seriously. I was not prepared for the different way the wand curved.

Once I got over that (and applied the makeup remover to my eyelid), I was ready to start over. More careful this time. But I actually loved it!

I don’t know how, but there really is a difference. And I thought I looked adorable if I do say so myself. The Stila website sells it packaged with another product for $30, but you can get it online through Sephora for $22.

I’m not going to lie, while that may not be through the roof expensive as far as mascara’s can go, I don’t exactly love the price. Not when I can go to CVS and get my favorite CoverGirl Exact Eye Lights Mascara for like $8.99 … however Stila’s Forever your Curl would be something I would keep on hand for special occasions maybe, when I want my lashes to look just so. Which means it might be worth the $22 since I wouldn’t be blowing through a tube once every two months.

P.S. – I found one on Amazon for just $13.50 so shop around!

I’ve used more expensive mascaras, but you’re not supposed to keep an opened tube longer than three months, so I refuse to spend that much money on something I will never even finish. I hoard coupons and wait until Walgreens has a buy one, get one 50% off sale, then I stock up on my CG Lash Blast Fusion for the year. I love the effect of mascara, but I hate buying it.

That being said, I would love to try this stuff to see if I noticed a difference (I curled my lashes for a short time, but I could never see a difference so I stopped).

  1. [...] Blonde, long, wispy. So much so, that when he closes his eyes, the lashes, in their entirety, lie gently against the skin below. It’s like he’s holding the golden ticket to the chocolate factory but he has no idea where the chocolate factory actually is. Since we’ve been married, I have begged him no less than 242,000 times to put mascara on those suckers. (I just wanted to see how LONG they could be!) Each of which time was vehemently rejected. I mean, I figured that if he witnessed all three of his little girls being born, he could CERTAINLY deal with a little mascara. [...]
